Masterbation For Weomam

Trophies of Roofing 2010

When poker six journalists gather around a drink to celebrate the new annéees is the perfect occasion - between the champagne and snacks - making a small balance from that unassuming just ended, as a small awards ceremony entirely unofficial. No-brainer, we limit classes to a minimum, no vote con either, everyone writes what he wants as he wants, so here are the first Trophies Roofing, along with a new start group blog which, of course, there was absolutely no idea what is going to do.

A tournament

Emmanuel "Maanu" Vanglabeke (River Tells) : I honestly do not know. By default, I would say the World Poker Tour Marrakech . First Once I was on a tournament without making a live report, so I could enjoy lots of other things instead of wasting my time telling that Ace-King beat a pair of Queens. First "real" interview also with Liz Lieu. A little relaxation.

Julian "Jools" Gaignard (Freelance) : If you remove the WSOP that are simply beyond category, I'd say my favorite tournament is the Main Event Partouche Poker Tour . It is the only event (except the WSOP), which includes many players of this level. In addition to all the French dish, there are also many foreigners. This year's edition saw Phil Ivey and especially Tom Dwan sit at the tables. Furthermore, the setting is beautiful and the reception given to the press is always excellent. After each event is unique and has its share of good moments.

Kevin "Harper" Noblat (Winamax) : Euro City Poker Tour at Barcelona. 2.750 euro entry, 291 players, and the final victory Fabrice Bachellez. A real dream. No, I'm kidding, it sucks. The circuit that I loved was the cover France Poker Tour . It's very rewarding to meet with fans. Before joining the "circuit "I was a club player, and rather kind of asset: I was indeed part of the board of directors of Poker @ Lyon. Find these amateur players is a joy that helps us remember why we do what you do: in order to discover this great game of poker (and because it's not too boring and fairly well paid, too). The final was also significant: I went to meet dozens of members of Wam-Poker, a community that I knew much less than Poker Club until now. I met with real personalities. Face-Off Final between Valentin Messina (eventual winner) and Freddy Deeb was also a treat. With Benjo, we delivered to a particular exercise: to tell all hands, without exception! The result was convincing and the feeling of accomplishment at the rendezvous.

Julien "Kinshu" Bochereau (Poker Club) : I appreciate the Winamax Poker Open held in Dublin in September. The atmosphere was top, the beer flowed like water, and in addition was the 6-handed. I enjoyed myself with my little friends (Benjo and Harper), even at the final table, although it was never ending (we went to bed about 8am I think).

Benjamin "Benjo" Gallen (Winamax) : In the middle of tournaments forgettable (more and more as time passes, helping weariness - not to appear jaded), I retain the European Poker Tour Deauville , very very fun with all livetards basically, it likes because they give us expressions of worship and whose hands it talks again a year later, especially when is lucky enough to capture them on video . A treat, not bored, we run all day, rain information, and given the number of friends present it is almost guaranteed to see at least one to a deep run. The Winamax Poker Open was a joy, with many amateurs and semi-pros (much less making head that "real" pros) Next, we must mention the main event of the Partouche Poker Tour in Cannes. This edition had its share of problems, but we must make a nod to the group Partouche to have built in just three years a major international tournament, one of the top ten of the year, nobody wants miss, even Ivey, Dwan and Mizrachi, and this with the help only of themselves, without satellites online (the key to the success of EFA, for example), just with their casino network (provided it very is true). They went by far, and they succeeded almost immediately. Finally, there is of course the WSOP, which remain separate, because of their seniority, prestige, all proposed alternatives. For six weeks every year, Las Vegas and WSOP are the center of the poker world, and the day I'll be done with poker, I think it will be the only festival to miss.

Steven "Bensimon" Liardeaux (madeinpoker) : We agree that the WSOP in Vegas is something apart, is not it? Well then in that case, I would hold the Chilipoker Deepstack in Marrakech, played in November. For the simple reason for a relatively modest buy-in (500 €), the atmosphere was very different, much more relaxing, cooler finally ... and ... and ... our two superstars reporters were away! What a joy to watch the magnificent course Ronan "Roroflush" and Kevin "Harper" Noblat, who both reached the final table. I think I will not forget this anecdote: At dinner break, a buffet, I find myself at the table of Harper, we discuss the tournament, and he told me then falling to 25 000 (on a Pad base 50 000). Five hours later, at the end of the day, I recrosses in the casino, "Harper then you end your day how much? "" 500 000! "" Ah, ah what a joke! no but seriously? "" 500 000, believe me! "I knew the next day would be really exciting, I was not disappointed ...

A trip

Yes, because we roofers, we like to also leave the casino when possible, and discover cool stuff.

Emmanuel Vanglabeke : Las Vegas during the World Series of Poker. For the first time I - and gave myself - time to do anything but cover it. And I love this city.

Gaignard Julien: I'm not going to be very creative on this one then. The best destination is undoubtedly Las Vegas . This is the place where we spend the most time in the year and where we really have the opportunity to do something else outside of the tournament. Because we travel often but was never time out to visit the country where you are. Vegas is the exception. And nothing to spoil that is where we spent the most beautiful evenings. Then just behind the place I chose, even though the weather was not terrible, it the Bahamas. The sun and warmth in January there is nothing better.

Kevin Noblat : To the original Las Vegas . Hardly the mark of 21 years passed (it's just the legal age to gamble and drink in the U.S.), I was able to go to Mecca for poker players. Soon arrived, I spent an evening with huge Alexonmoon, and Seb Solody Sabic. It was everything I imagined: the hubris and folly. I invite you to reread the article I wrote on my arrival . Subsequently, the two months have passed at full speed. And I already have one desire: to be in May to return.

Julien Bochereau : This year, I liked the resort of Golden Sands, Bulgaria , where they attended a Unibet Open. An open bar on the beach that ends in a box, then after a hut where we had a good hooded. A mixed resort to an amusement park, and more Brokes were welcome, with two euros for a pint and pizza at five. I love it!

Benjamin Gallen : I have not had the opportunity to visit many new places thanks to poker this year. I'm mostly returned to the same places, some that I love like San Remo (to eat) or Prague, and others who are falsely good (for my taste) as Monte Carlo or the Bahamas. I was for the first time in Berlin, but we never had time to leave. Tallinn (Estonia) was superb, but I made the mouth because I jumped like shit in my first EPT as a player. In the end, I'm gonna have to say Las Vegas . I have an ambivalent relationship hate / love with this city I have visited fifteen times and that embodies so much evil (let's not mince words) but there are also enough things that I love that I can not get tired of: all the guys are there, and you can eat, dance, play, kiss, get stoned 24 hours over 24 hours. And that's where we found the In-N-Out, damn.

Steven Liardeaux : The question does not arise, the Award immediately returns to Sin City ! Living in the city five weeks of play, cross every day Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Tom Dwan and Jason Mercier, and discover a world of completely new night, only Vegas can offer this. Admittedly it was 45 ° C outside and 15 ° inside, it was hard not to fall ill. Admittedly, it was working as dogs from noon to midnight every day ... but what up my friends, what up! Nothing in the world I would not miss this destination in the future ...

A player

Your favorite of the year, which should not necessarily be a player who has won every tournament they have played, but rather someone who liked a bit more than others.

Emmanuel Vanglabeke : Ronan " Roroflush " Monfort, because it symbolizes just what I thought I could do when I started this job a few years ago, a roofer go to player. Even if this is just the beginning for him, it makes me dream.

Julien Gaignard : I can not tell if I really have a favorite player. It's more affinity with some. I must confess that I have a particular pleasure to see players like perfer Arnaud Mattern, Nicolas Levi, Philip Ktorza Thomas Bichon or Jean Paul Pasqualini, because beyond the poker player I particularly like the men they are. After how not include Phil Ivey I had the privilege of interviewing and especially to see win his eighth WSOP bracelet this summer. This man is truly a machine. At international level, there are two players who have really influenced by their level of play this year, and strangely (or not) these two men are Danish. It's Theo Jorgensen, who won the WPT Paris and author of a deep run in the WSOP Main Event and Allan Baekke who won EPT Snowfest and which almost doubled and achieve back to back to EPT San Remo. Otherwise I like a lot of post players on the circuit whether or not known.

Kevin Noblat : My player of the year 2010 is Cyril "DonLimit Andre . Certainly, among his friends, Alex Luneau or Rui Cao made more impressive swings in cash games. Certainly, Nick and Marc Levi Inizan have not won a tournament. But his desire for progress, continuing his questioning and convincing results, Cyril is one impressed me the most. Last spring we visited in DonLimit and Alexonmoon with Guignol and Furax, just to spend a weekend in London. I remember that's when Cyril asked the questions at Guignol, but already he was beginning to shake up theories, imposing its own concepts. A few months later, Cyril took hundreds of thousands of dollars on the table cash game online, and as tournament, including reaching the finals of France Poker Tour Partouche Poker Tour, but also winning a great victory at the Evian Poker Open. Beside, Cyril remains humble and immersed in his game is still drinking as much beer and continue to go to the stadium to quell matches. That's all we like, and I hope that the friend "Don" will be at least as well in 2011.

Julien Bochereau : Arnaud Mattern . He knows recount the beatings he has played, and in addition it sends SMS directly to tell them when we were not at the table! I also love Arnaud because he plays very well and it is the pro player I identify with most (in terms of style of play). This is incidentally a good friend and a good friend in the evenings degens .

Benjamin Gallen : I like carting the pros (in the back from time to time but usually in front), but there are still a lot I really appreciate (hopefully) and any number whose performances have impressed me this year (Tom Dwan, Michael Mizrachi, Vanessa Selbst, Andrew Cyrille and Alex Luneau for France, among others ...) But actually, I really want to vote Vikash Dhorasoo just history to be clever. Vikash is not a pro, it's not the guy who has not won this year is not the guy who plays the best, and the guy is not even the most enthusiastic towards poker . But it's part of its charm, and behind the provocation that he has always hides a good person, generous, jovial fellow, who says what he thinks, even crash, it took at least risk. And regarding poker is a winning player, anyway. I do not know if he could be pro (he will ever want, anyway), but its balance is positive, as cash-tournament games, as live online. I like the watch, hilarious, in crazy train the best "regs" Winamax around larger tables of the site, before winning the final barrier Poker Tour nonchalantly, hands in pockets, and then publish an article on the Blog Team Winamax explaining that ultimately a poker player is someone very alone , whose triumph is easily shareable with others. An opinion which would at once make him debate and attract criticism, but he cares Vikash because he knows that deep down, all this is not very serious, and it is well to remember from time to time, before starting a new game of cards.

Steven Liardeaux : That hard, very hard to choose ONE player! I discovered dozens this year ... but go, since we get wet, I'd say ... Vanessa Hellbuyck ! Why? Because she won the ladies, was just the first tournament I was covering for madeinpoker in Vegas, because she alone embodied the American dream, because the cheering crowd in the stands was just one of the best time this summer, because I almost never been so proud to sing his hand on his heart the Marseillaise before an audience of American ass! For all these reasons, Vanessa is my number one.

A photo

Emmanuel Vanglabeke : There are plenty, but I have a particular fondness for it, shot by Jules Pochy at the final table of $ 3,000 triple chance WSOP, while William had just won a pot. He gets off, and it shows, I like.

Julien Gaignard : It's very hard to select only one photo, there has been so taken ... It's a bit like asking photographers to choose the team a unique picture. But hey, we'll try anyway. In I would choose a pure poker recent photos taken by the year or Kinshu Tapis_Volant (I forget) at the EPT Prague. This is one of the race winner, Roberto Romanello. While generally the winners of big tournaments are happy but no more, see Romanello into tears when lifting the trophy was particularly moving. I would also add the photo of Phil Ivey at its victory in Vegas this summer on the $ 3 000 HORSE . Just for the pleasure of attending the event. Otherwise there are also the pictures of the "backstage" of coverage with a preference for those taken with Sara Underwood with Roro and Harper.

Kevin Noblat : A signed photo Jaybee on his coverage OFF PPT Cannes. This is perfect, simply. Nor should we forget this masterpiece, this young lady (I learned later that it was Sara Underwood Playmate of the Year 2007) had insisted ask my side [ND Benjo: Who believes?]. I kindly accepted. Finally, I found it nice to see John Paul Pasqualini watch the coronation of Vanessa Selbst in the Partouche Poker Tour from my computer, it was then taking the title.

Julien Bochereau : Phil Ivey, seized by Jaybee in Montecarlo. This photo has been around the world ! No comment.

Benjamin Gallen : It Paco, one of the great cameramen Winamax, who took this picture inside the Amazon Room, the nerve center World Series of Poker. It is perfect, this cliché. The geometric composition, with one side of the bench press, and the background (Separated by the barrier, but far closer together), and we imagine many players. Roofers, they have the feel busy, do not bother them, they are in the middle of something important, with this line of computers, this mess of cables, objectives cameras, bottles , panniers, and Harper typing in silence with the headphones on, the air calm, diligent, doing a clean job. The helmet, it is essential to who is to spend fifty days each summer in this room, and when I look at this picture, I am moved in and I can hear without effort the sound of hundreds of thousands of chips rattling around 200 and some tables. The soundtrack of my summer last five years.

Steven Liardeaux : Hello puzzle ... Photos, I saw thousands this year (that's to work alongside the best French photographer, Jules Pochy). Then choose one seems very very complicated! I still decided to retain that of Jack Ury, very old gentleman, 96 years, I found by chance in the middle of 7000 players from the WSOP Main Event. Symbol of longevity, Jack Ury is the picnic for all young grinders with his game to the old, and his way of slowroll kindly his opponents at the table . A gentleman! There is still time to honor him, then I invite.

A bad-beat

Emmanuel Vanglabeke : WPT Amnéville conclusively. Internet connection difficult, PR-casino hateful, impossible to obtain a chip-count daily official if you do not yourself ... although in the end I did not keep a bad memory than that, this tournament has brought together all the bad-beats that may know a roofer.

Julien Gaignard : There was some bad beats this year. Regarding the tournament the longest I would use the Open Evian October 2009 (it counts for the 2010 season, right?). The tournament was held over two days and on Day 2 started at 12 or 13h (I forget) and ends at 8:30 the next day. I remember falling asleep in his chair Harper, it was pretty fun. Fortunately in the end it does the right thing Guignol otherwise we would have really seen the ultimate bad beat. Otherwise I do not see really horrible time. There have been the final of the EPT Prague which had been a long but otherwise no real tournaments where I thought about hanging myself. After on-side to something else. In this case I am compelled to speak Amneville (I also think that I would not be the only one): or how to organize the largest WPT never took place on European soil in the worst place in the world. Basically there if you skip the tournament, you're dead. There is absolutely nothing to do. The casino is located in the middle of a business area lost between a McDonalds and a cinema. Ah, if I'm wrong language there is the nightclub Stardust, the nightclub for over 25 years. If I swears it is a concept they invented ... I think this is the first time we're not out once and we were delighted to go home.

Noblat Kevin: Ha ha. Ha ha ha ha ha. Sorry, it's nervous. Just to think back, it freaks me chills. November. World Poker Tour. Amnéville. Oh damn, it said. This tournament was a living hell. Stephane Matheu arrived with, we want to rent a car, our hotel is located fifteen minutes from the tournament site. It was then that we as lost in an episode of Confessions : unable surrounded the entire week, the tournament was off life a living hell. Fortunately, the press was well received and internet connection quality. The unfortunate episode of the bubble nevertheless completed our little motivation left. Not sure that it is reviewing a roofer in 2011.

Bochereau Julien: I have plenty of choice for this category. History of a change from mundane stories about evenings too watered, I want to select the incident that took place in Amnéville. Without going into details, the staff has done wrong in his job When the bubble. There was more to talk about it. But the next day I received threats quite ridiculous and not really true. In short, this day has been pretty nightmarish to me, but I survived in the end!

Benjamin Gallen : It's funny that everyone who went to the WPT Amnéville chose this event as a major bad-beat of the year. Me, I managed to escape, and unanimity of my colleagues in their choice makes me breathe a sigh of relief. On my bad-beats me, I have plenty of choice. I broke my finger in my first downhill slopes when Snowfest, ensuring that the rest of the week would be well moldy. I commented a hold Live in Berlin. I tried to have a relationship with a poker player. I missed a lot of planes, more and more ways to fool, since he failed at Paris because I was immersed in a book (which I had already read more), via Dublin where me and Harper had simultaneously turned off our respective revivals after an hour of sleep difficulty, to Prague, where the ultimate tassel, hold on, I managed not to board a plane that was six hours late, and yes, I 'would actually come with two hours ahead of schedule recommended to the traveler that I'm starting over yet. In all this is over my own stupidity that is to question, so I will select the final of the Partouche Poker Tour. I landed at Cannes with literally not slept for 72 hours, having returned from holiday the day after a flight of eight hours uncomfortable with behind another sleepless night. I believe that Murphy's law that makes oddly, it is always at the worst time we fell over the big story, one that will keep us busy a maximum time. And Cannes, it has not failed: six hours, while I was already thinking with delight to fifteen hours of sleep waiting for me, my phone rings: one of the finalists had been ruled out after heavy suspicions of cheating. scandal which obviously had to talk : I stayed up until four o'clock in the morning. And then I slept anyway.

Liardeaux Steven: I have not had many bad beats this year. Lucky me, I did not cover the WPT Amnéville ... But conversely, I had to go cover the Unibet Open in London. However, I was sold on the dream Unibet " Yeah, you'll see it's a nice tournament Unibet, the evenings are good, etc. . "Finally, I found myself out there without Harper, without Benjo without Kinshu without Jools without Maanu ... I recognized as Ludovic Lacay French in Day1 (and he bust just after the dinner break, MLF) and evening announced as exceptional proved to be a good hood, as it were. Add to that he was -2 ° C, only three days earlier, I Dorais yet the pill in Marrakech, and on my return I almost died when the plane landed on an airstrip snowbound Paris .... and you have a guaranteed recipe for a bad beat monstrous three days. I never ran so fast with my suitcase to fly this tournament.

An article

A little self-promo! ... for an article saying that we particularly enjoyed writing and publishing.

Emmanuel Vanglabeke " Feed Your Wild Side " on my personal blog. Although not perfect, I like this article because I vividly remember the mindset in which I wrote, and I really enjoyed everything I said in this post .

Gaignard Julien: Well, if it's time to brag we will try to find some nice messages. Actually I have great difficulty getting back on my work and I can never tell if I am satisfied or not with what I did. More than an article but rather an encounter, a title or part of an article which I like. So if I had to choose, I'd say I'm happy with my work for the magazine CardPlayer during the WSOP (numbers 48 and 49, July / August 2010). I have indeed managed to make a live coverage for a month and a half while managing to provide the content for both magazines papers. After I am very pleased with my interview Benjo (Issue 48, July 2010) in which he has just unveiled and I was feeling for allowing readers to discover a little better this major player in the French poker. If not for what they represent I'm very glad I was able to interview Tom Dwan and Phil Ivey in recent WSOPE. If the interview with Dwan came out in CardPlayer 51 October 2010, the Ivey should come out one day. Maybe ... Finally I particularly like the game titles which are all engaged in the live coverages. And speaking as if I had to choose only one I would opt for my last paper on the WPT in Marrakech last Livepoker (January 2011): " Homan's Land".

Noblat Kevin: I write long articles rarely structured. Recently, I am nevertheless delivered a new year: Antony Lellouche follow for a week and tell their daily limit-high player. The returns were very good and I really want to put the cover soon. Otherwise, there are obviously all titles stuffed pun. I made it too (the very good and the rotten) to remind me of everything, but for instance:
- After removal of Clement Thumy "He Thu-my. Thu- and lost. "
- A diversion of the slogan of Wam-Poker (" Standing on the table! ") after a big bluff directly observed:" Two balls on the table! "For history, we've been thinking with Benjo on possible negative feedback from the management before we loose our boss a" Yeah, put it, it's huge! "
Well, for others, I'm too lazy to look, but there will be others in 2011, promised.

Julien Bochereau : We wrote twenty a day, posts / articles. It is not easy to remember one in particular. In general, I like the moves involving tards and where I can stall a pun on the con. I was happy to place the " Give us the dog Champagnole first! " in Prague, for example.

Benjamin Gallen : Every year I get to write a dozen articles that I am happy (no more), and I'll have to select the one that had the most success, because c is also my favorite. "The durrrr Factor." About that crazy day where Tom Dwan failed to land one hand the gaming community with high-stakes Las Vegas by winning a crazy gamble estimated more than ten million dollars ... If the item has liked it especially because I took a lot of fun to live that day that lasted over 36 hours. I have seen the final over, without writing anything on the computer, taking notes in the front row and feel the intensity rise gradually in the stands, tables nearby, across the Rio de facto. We had the rare sense of observing something historical, that will be remembered. When the tournament ended, it was four o'clock in the morning but I still had to write this damn article, and I typed on the keyboard until eleven o'clock before I declare satisfied with the gadget. At this stage there was no question of going to sleep: I simply took a shower and went back to Rio staggered with this bizarre sense of immortality that we feel when we repeat the same thing for a time very, very long.

Liardeaux Steven: I had too much trouble choosing among all the posts from all coverages, so I turned to one of the articles posted on the site: the interview with Bruno Launais for madeinpoker. Because I had a good time with him because Brubru is really a player in my hand, and because it we are sick of interviews where we hear about maps, beats and bads company, I'm very proud to have completed this interview. Enjoy, discover or rediscover with great pleasure. If only all players could be as available and friendly as him ...
